Justice demanded three years after U.S. reporter's killing in Mexico

Amnesty International (AI) has criticized the lack of progress in the investigation of the 2006 shooting death of video journalist Brad Will in the southern state of Oaxaca.

AI insists that the suspect jailed for the crime is a "scapegoat" being held on flawed evidence, and that his prosecution "appears to be driven by the need to demonstrate progress in Brad Will’s case."

Will reported for the Indymedia site and was shot while covering a street battle between the state government's supporters and opponents.

The Committee to Protect Journalists adds, "a group of armed men who were widely photographed shooting directly in the direction where Brad stood—men who many human rights groups, independent investigators and Brad Will’s family believe are responsible for the crime—remain free."
