Ibero-American reporters can apply for “New Journalism” prizes

The New Ibero-American Journalism Foundation (FNPI) is accepting applications from journalists in Latin America, Spain, and Portugal for the 9th edition of its CEMEX+FNPI Prize. The deadline for submissions is Feb. 28, 2010.

The top photo and text pieces will each receive $25,000, and a $30,000 lifetime achievement award will be given to one journalist with more than 20 years professional experience.

Last year’s awards honored Mexican journalist Miguel Ángel Granados Chapa for his 40-year career in print, radio, and TV journalism.

The rules for applicants are available in Spanish and Portuguese on the FNPI website.

Need to admit that Miguel

Need to admit that Miguel Angel Granados Chapa is a legendary journalist - I have heard a lot of his radio translations. He is a real professional.
