Murdoch threatens to take content off Google News

Rupert Murdoch, chairman and CEO of News Corp., said he wants to prevent Google’s search and news services from indexing and aggregating his company’s content, BBC reports. In August, he said News Corp. would charge for all online content, which is considered its intellectual property.

The move could potentially affect a number of major media outlets including Fox News, Dow Jones wire service, and more than 30 publications in the U.K. and Australia, PC Magazine explains. News Corp. also owns the Wall Street Journal, which is behind a paid content wall but can still be accessed through Google News.

Google responded that it will not index a site against its will and that a simple line of html code will remove a site from news and content searches, Wired adds.

Net Neutrality

I think what is happening here is that he just doesn't want these sites to become a part of the net neutrality game where the US government will control Google and other companies. This gives the power to censor content. Just a thought. Most of his sites do not need Google in order to be seen. Unless of course it's all about the money again. casino en ligne

oh this is cool but not letting your site to be indexed with google will decrease its popularity.
