After 20 days in prison, journalist Maritânia Forlin, suspected of working with drug dealers in Paraná state, was released by police pending her trial and announced that she would launch a book of memoirs to defend her image, Folha de S. Paulo reports.

Forlin is charged with trading police information to drug traffickers in exchange for exclusives about crimes they planned to commit. Forlin denies the charges.

According to UOL Notícias, the journalist told the site that her memoirs will “show the professional life of a police reporter, the consequences of this type of media that sensationalizes violence, and some of the stories I have seen.”
