Kentucky newspaper cooperates with news aggregator to publish print version of Huffington Post story

Normally, it seems traditional newspapers are worried about blogs and other online news sites aggregating their stories -- in fact, concerns over aggregation and proper attribution have even led to lawsuits and resignations.

For once, though, it seems to be the other way around, as giant news aggregator the Huffington Post saw its online content published in a print newspaper, according to the Nieman Journalism Lab.

Without any accusations of plagiarism or requests to be paid, the Huffington Post agreed to allow The Harlan Daily Enterprise in Kentucky to run a story about mining with a Huffington Post byline.

"Let’s be thankful that despite all the tension inherent in the news business these days — despite all the wars of words between print and online, between producers and aggregators, between new and old — this little example of cooperation could happen," wrote Justin Ellis for the Nieman Lab.

That is great to see that the

That is great to see that the Huffington Post doesn't care if a small Kentucky newspaper takes their content. I just hope that the newspaper gave credit to the Author of the article, that would be the only way I could see the Huffington Post allowing it. If the Author of the article is not getting credit for their work than my viewpoint is slightly different as I am a writer and hate to see my work published somewhere else without my permission and they are not even giving me credit in the meta tags of the website where no one else can see it unless they are looking for it, but I guess that would just be admitting that you stole it.
