Reporter Pedro López, a correspondent for Radio Progreso in Cortés Department western Honduras, was held by police for four hours along with demonstrators. He was covering a national strike on Wednesday, El Patriota reports.

López was reporting on the situation live on his cell phone when the connection suddenly went dead, the station said.

The Committee for Free Expression in Honduras (C-Libre) said the reporter had been transferred from one police station to another and that his recorder had been seized. The Resistance Front of Attorneys in the city of San Pedro Sula, presented a writ of hábeas corpus to discover López's state of health and where he was being held.

After four hours in police cstody, López was freed when agents “realized he had been doing his job as a correspondent," Revistazo.com says.
