In six years, 164,000 people from 200 countries participated in Knight Center's online courses in journalism

The Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas is celebrating the 6th anniversary of its program of massive online courses in journalism that has an unparalleled reach around the world. Since 2012, 164,540 students from 200 countries and territories participated in our 60 courses offered in two modalities: 51 were Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and nine were Big Online Courses (BOCs). Each MOOC reaches a few thousand students and is free and each BOC reaches a few hundred and has a low cost. Read more »

“Crafting Data Stories: A Hands-on, Step-by-step Workshop Building Real Data Narratives" runs from Sept. 18 to Oct. 29, 2017. Heather Krause, founder and principal data scientist of Datassist, will lead a six-week Big Online Course (BOC) teaching students how to build a data story from scratch using analysis and narrative techniques. Course "Social Media Analytics for Journalists" will teach how to measure your success online; registration open

After years of working in online journalism production and audience engagement, journalist Amanda Zamora is ready to share lessons learned about how journalists can optimize content for social platforms and measure audience response.

“Social Media Analytics for Journalists: Measuring Your Success” is a four-week Big Online Course (BOC) offered in English by the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas and taught by Zamora. It runs from March 7 to April 3 and costs $95, which is payable by credit card. Read more »
