Almost 13,000 students enrolled in Knight Center data journalism course in English, Spanish and Portuguese

Students from the United States to Australia, from Colombia to Spain and from Brazil to Angola have taken part in the Knight Center’s first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) offered simultaneously in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

“Data Journalism and Visualization with Free Tools,” offered in association with Google News Initiative, attracted 12,785 people from 160 countries and was taught by a team of nine experts in the field. Read more »

Online course on data visualization and infographics with D3 now in Spanish; enrollment is open

"Data Visualization and Infographics with D3", one of the most popular online courses in English offered this year by the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas, will be offered in Spanish starting January 18, 2016.

Both times that this course was offered in English in 2015, spaces filled up quickly. The Knight Center now offers this course in Spanish after receiving repeated requests. Be sure to register as soon as possible to ensure your participation. Read more »

Knight Center concludes MOOC on infographics with 5,000 participants, its largest class to date

The Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas concluded this week its largest class to date: The second edition of its first Massive Open Online Course (or MOOC), “Introduction to Infographics and Data Visualization” with instructor Alberto Cairo. The MOOC attracted more than 5,000 participants from 138 countries in its second iteration (the first edition of the course reached out 2,000 people from 109 countries last year). Read more »
