Journalists can apply for travel grants to transport forum in Germany

The International Transport Forum, a think tank focusing on transport policy, is offering travel grants to a number of journalists from eight countries in the Americas to attend its 2011 summit May 25–27 in Leipzig, Germany. The deadline to apply is April 10.

Journalists from the following countries are eligible for the travel grants to the meeting focusing on “Transport for Society”: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and the United States. Those from other countries may also apply but will only be considered if funds still remain, the organization says.

The grants cover round-trip air fare, but journalists must pay their own accommodation. Hotel costs may also be covered in exceptional circumstances.

The International Transport Forum is an inter-governmental organization within the system of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The summit brings together transport ministers, academics, and leaders from industry and civil society from its 52 member countries.
