DISTANCE LEARNING

Welcome to the Knight Center’s trilingual Distance Learning program!

The Knight Center has offered online courses since 2003 and began to expand its distance learning program with the launch of its first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) in October 2012. Since then, the Center's MOOCs and Big Online Courses (BOCs) have reached more than 155,000 students from nearly 180 countries.

Our courses cover a variety of topics, including digital journalism techniques, fact-checking and verification, computer-assisted reporting, data visualization, and more. They last four to five weeks and are conducted completely online. Our instructors are some of the most respected, experienced journalists and journalism trainers in the world. The courses take full advantage of multimedia, featuring video lectures, chats, discussion forums, self-paced quizzes, and other collaborative learning technologies. Our expert instructors and cutting-edge platform provide a quality learning experience for the journalist who seeks to improve and/or gain new knowledge or skills for the 21st century newsroom.

Please visit this section of our website often. We post our new course offerings here, and our registration process takes place entirely online. We hope you will consider applying for an upcoming course, and that we will see you soon in the virtual classroom!
