For 25 years, ISOJ has helped lead the conversation on how digital technologies are reshaping the journalism field. ISOJ, which is organized by the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas at UT Austin, lets participants stay at the forefront of industry trends, offering opportunities for learning about new tools, gaining insights from renowned experts, and building valuable connections. With ISOJ’s unique blend of professional practice and academia, participants can also engage with the latest research, methods and educational practices.
This year’s panels will focus on topics like news avoidance and burnout, doing journalism in countries with hostile governments, covering the incoming administration of U.S President Donald Trump, the real impact of artificial intelligence on newsrooms, newsfluencers and the creator economy, political satire and more. A growing list of panelists will be announced soon.
Both in-person and online participants will have full access to keynote presentations and panels, and will be able to connect with fellow participants through a dedicated ISOJ 2025 Slack community.
In-person participation also includes breakfast, lunch, snacks during breaks and an open-bar welcome party. Workshops are also included, but seats are limited. Registration for these sessions will be announced shortly.
Online participation goes beyond streaming of panels to include ways for remote participants to engage with speakers and fellow attendees. As in recent years, online participants will be able to attend a limited number of live Q&As with select speakers.
The conference will be simultaneously interpreted to Spanish for those attending in person and online.
