Journalism Courses, the Knight Center’s distance learning program, offers different modalities of online courses for journalists for free or at a low-cost. The Knight Center is the world leader in massive open online courses (MOOCs) and a pioneer in the field. In 2003, the center started offering online courses for journalists and since 2012 it has served almost a quarter of a million students from 200 countries and territories. ISOJ started in 1999 as a small, one-day conference and has since become one of the most prestigious journalism conferences in the world, serving as a barometer for the state of online journalism globally.

For 17 years, the Knight Center has published the blog Journalism in the Americas that in June 2020 grew into this digital magazine.

The Knight Center Speaker Series is part of occasional events that benefit students and faculty members of the Moody College of Communication School of Journalism and Media.
The Knight Center Research Group is focused on issues related to journalism and press freedom in Latin America and the Caribbean. Professor Rosental Alves and research fellows from the Moody College of Communication and its School of Journalism and Media have been conducting research on Latin American media issues for several years, resulting in the publication of peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers.
VISIT RESEARCH GROUP SITESince 2008, the Knight Center has organized the Coloquio Iberoamericano de Periodismo Digital (Ibero-American Colloquium on Digital Journalism) on the day after ISOJ. The Colloquium is a small conference, in Spanish language, created to convene the many journalists, media executives and scholars who come to ISOJ from Latin America, Spain and Portugal. The conference promotes a thoughtful discussion about the evolution of online journalism with a regional focus.
