Knight Center offers second edition of the webinar “How to Write for the Web”

Journalists from Latin America and the Caribbean can now register for the 2nd edition of “How to Write for the Web,” a webinar taught by Guillermo Franco, author of a book by the same name. That book, “How to Write for the Web,” has been one of the most popular e-books offered by the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas, recently surpassing 50,000 free downloads in Spanish and English. The webinar is scheduled for Nov. 15 from 8-10 a.m. Austin, Texas time. Visit the following world time clock website to check the time the webinar will be offered in your country.

The webinar will be taught in Spanish through an online training platform. Franco will cover how to increase the usability of online texts and how to structure texts for easy online reading, which are topics from his book on the subject. Journalists interested in the webinar are encouraged to read the book and prepare questions for Franco to address. Through teaching of techniques from his book, Franco hopes to provide valuable skills for web-based journalists in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Participants may register for free through this link:

Spaces are limited. Once all seats have been filled, registration will no longer be available.

At the conclusion of the webinar, journalists can receive a certificate by paying an administrative fee of $30. This will cover a small portion of the operations of the distance learning course, which is funded by the Knight Center through a generous grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
