From the sister cities of Juárez/El Paso, Hugo Ortiz is the marketing and communications coordinator at the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas at Austin, Hugo understands the weight of storytelling and is interested in amplifying the Knight Center’s impact through creative and honest narratives. He’s also an award-winning filmmaker with work both in English and Spanish, featured in multiple international film festivals, such as New York Shorts International Film Festival, Georgia Latino International Film Festival, El Paso Film Festival, and more. In addition, he’s part of an indie pop duo, Niños Perdidos, based out of Juárez, Mexico.
